DH World Cup #5 - Windham (USA) – Loic Bruni on the podium

Amazing performance from Loic Bruni yesterday in Windham on the 5th round of the World Cup. Only 18 years old, he missed the round in Mont St Anne because he had to take his exams, but went back in Windham and got his 1st podium with Elite riders.

Bruni podium

The results in qualifications were already good for our LP riders: Patrick Thome 32nd, Cameron Cole 19th, Sam Blenkinsop 11th and Loic Bruni 10th.

In the final, Loic had a fast and solid run, arriving 2nd, only 2 tenths behind the current World Champion Danny Hart. Nine riders still to go, but on a speedy and rocky track, only 3 of them finally went faster. Aaron Gwin takes his 4th win in a row.
It means a 4th victory in the Juniors for Bruni, but especially his first top5 with Elite riders, in front of many big guns (Sam Hill 7th, Mick Hannah 8th, Greg Minaar 9th…). Sam Blenkinsop finished 17th, Patrick Thome 20th and Cam Cole 41th.
