Enduro World Series #1 – Team Lapierre Gravity Republic hit the ground running!
The season is off to a great start for Team Lapierre Gravity Republic!
The duo Nico Vouilloz - Adrien Dailly, strengthened by the arrival of kiwi rider Rae Morrison during the offseason, made quite an impression on the 1st round of the Enduro World Series in Chile. After two long days of practice, the riders had a packed program for this first round of the EWS with 2 days of competition, fifty kilometers per day and 6 stages in total.
After the first day, the favorites were already in the top positions. Richie Rude leading the Elite Men category, Cécile Ravanel leading the Elite Women’s category. They kept their first place through to the end of the competition.
Nico Vouilloz impressed by taking the 3rd place behind the young guard (Rude, Maes) and ahead of a host of French (Barelli, Clementz, Nicolai, Oton, Galy, Bailly Maitre ...). Rae Morrison was consistent through the 3 stages (5th, 3rd, 5th) and stayed close to the podium in the Women’s. Adrien Dailly, favorite in the U21 category, finished the first day in 3rd place.
On the second day, it's status quo in the Elite men; Nico Vouilloz, comfortable on this terrain that is both fast and technical, used his experience to maintain his superb 3rd place. At 40 years old, it seems that nothing can stop him!
Among the women, Rae Morrison lost a few seconds, but still finished in 6th place. A great result for her first international competition under LP’s colours.
Adrien Dailly, meanwhile had put the turbo on, and slammed the best U21 time on the 3 stages to walk away with the win. Superb!
And to top it all, Team Lapierre Gravity Republic claimed the 1st place in the team rankings! A great reward for our riders who could not hope for a better launch for the EWS season.
All eyes are now on Argentina, with the 2nd round of the EWS taking place this coming week-end. Team Lapierre Gravity Republic, now leader of the Enduro World Series, will do everything to defend its new status.
The first round is full of coasts, heat, dust, forests and fire. As the season kicks off, we couldn’t have been treated to a more spectacular start to 2016. Check out this one minute of fast cuts whilst our full highlights take shape. #EWScorral
