French Cyclo-Cross championship in Nommay – Mourey goes 7 !

One year after losing his national title, Francis Mourey set things straight yesterday in Nommay. He wins the national title for the 7th time and sets a new record!

Francis Mourey, impressive in the mud of Nommay

The FDJ rider was just imperial yesterday in the mud of Nommay. He did not let to anyone the possibility to lead the race, by attacking in the 1st lap. He immediadlty got a 30 seconds gap and has never been seen back by his competitors.

Behind him, there’s a big fight to access the podium. Arnold Jeannesson, the 2nd FDJ rider, made the best impression on the muddy track. Fighting with John Gadret, Aurélien Duval and Steve Chainel (now riding under AG2R’s colors), Marc Madiot’s protege quickly dropped that chasing group, and maintained his 2nd place up to the end of the race. A fantastic result for the FDJ Team: 1st and 2nd.

Ultimate goal of the season for Francis, the CX World Championships which will take place for the 1st time in North America, in the city of Louisville (USA). A different context from the European races, which could be favorable to Francis, who already claimed victory in the US!

1st and 2nd place for the Team FDJ!
